Lauri Ruth, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Play Therapy. My passion is working with children, teens and families. I have extensive experience working with children and teens in various capacities: Middle School Counselor, Junior High Math Teacher, Preschool Teacher, Paraprofessional, In-Patient Psychiatric Adolescent Instructor. I welcome the opportunity to work with children ages 3 - 18 and their families.
I am also available to provide individual counseling to adults in need of someone to listen with empathy and understanding, while assisting in the resolution of problems impeding happiness and fulfillment with life.
I consider myself a Family Systems Therapist. I believe in working with the whole family to achieve optimum results from therapy, whether this means working with the family together or working with each individual. Often when children have multiple homes in which they live, it is important to work with everyone to ensure consistency and stability.
On a personal note, I have been married for thirty-nine years to my husband Mike. He has been a baseball scouting supervisor for the Minnesota Twins for thirty-six years. We have lived in Lee's Summit since 1991. We have three incredible daughters, two son-in-laws, four granddaughters and four grandsons. All of them live in the Kansas City area, so I spend lots of time with them.
